Calvary Presbyterian Church welcomed Pastor Carie Stanley as its new leader on August 25th, 2025.

Pastor Stanley, celebrated the 25th anniversary of her ordination on Wednesday, August 27th, During the past 25 years she has served numerous congregations, first as an associate minister for youth ministry, then as an interim minister.

She has served the local Presbytery for the past 18 years, as moderator of the Newton Presbytery, chairwoman of the Missional Ministry Team, adult leader for Triennium, chaplain at Camp Johnsonburg, and is now co-moderator of the Church Development Team of the Highlands Presbytery.

Pastor Stanley has also been involved in "Messy Church," a form of church designed to be engaging and accessible for all ages, especially families and those new to church.

She grew up in the Wilton Presbyterian Church in Connecticut and was involved in the church youth group as well as the summer mission week in rural Maine through Mission at the Eastward.

Pastor Stanley has a degree in anthropology and spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer working with migrant farmworkers in Florida. She attended Princeton Theological Seminary with a focus on youth ministry.

Pastor Stanley has two daughters, a freshman and a senior in high school, and enjoys attending their numerous activities. She also enjoys animals, including her dog, Sadie Grace, Scuba diving, and caring for the environment. She also enjoys simple arts-and-crafts projects and likes to include some of that creativity in worship.
